Lync After Hours Message
Recording the message
Record the custom greetings and save it as .wav or .wma file format. All wave files must meet the following requirements: •8-bit or 16-bit file •Linear pulse code modulation (LPCM), A-Law, or mu-Law format •Mono or stereo •4MB or less For the best performance of wave files, a 16 kHz, mono, 16-bit Wave file is recommended.
Conversion of .wav file
The file was processed with a free program named GoldWave (http://www.goldwave.com) after the file is trimmed to the correct starting and ending point save the file by performing:
1. From the menu choose "File" then "Save as" 2. On the "Save as" dialog box click the "Set Attributes..." button 3. With all filters set to All, scroll down and choose "A-Law, mono" and click Ok 4. Give the file a name and click Save 5. Copy the file to LYSE
Upload newly created file
From LYSE open IE and go to http://admin.housingservices.com
1. On the Lync management page: Username: Administrator and Password: Corporate Password 2. Go to 'response group' 3. Under the 'workflow' tab, select 'reception' 4. Click the 'create or edit a workflow' button. 5. Choose "ApplicationServer:lyse.housingservices.com" and Click "Ok" 7. From the 'Response Group Configuration Tool' page, under Reception row choose 'Edit' 9. Under the "Step 4" section labeled "Configure a message to play outside of business hours" choose the "Select" radio button. 10. Click the "a recording" link and click the browse button from the popup window 11. After selecting the .WAV file click "Upload" 12. There is no indication that the upload was successful only an error if it is not successful. 13. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save <-- if this step is missed the new file will not be saved.
Verification of successful up load
1. While still logged in to web management, from the 'Response Group Configuration Tool' page, under Reception row choose 'Edit' 2. Under the "Step 4" section labeled "Configure a message to play outside of business hours" 3. Verify that the "Use the current recorded message YourFileName.wav" is selected.
