How to Add New Secure File Transfer User (FTPS)

CHS: securedownload.housingservices.com (Fred) 
CHS InTech: ftp.chsintech.com (Hampton)

Add User

Active Directory Users and Computers

1. OU: AppUsers
2. Add User
   1. First Name: SFTP
   2. Last Name: descriptive_name_of_user (e.g. UTI)
   3. Display Name: SFTPdescriptive_name_of_user (e.g. SFTPUTI)
   4. Description: SecureDownload User for entity (e.g. SecureDownload User for UTI)
   5. Office: EXCLUDE (this excludes this user from the online directory)
3. Open User properties
   1. Attribute Editor tab (this will be the directory this user will have access to)
      1. msIIS-FTProot: \\Server\share (e.g \\fred\ftproot OR \\hampton\ftproot)
      2. msIIS-FTPDir: \directory (e.g. \UTI)
4. Created the directory in the path listed above.
   1. Security tab –> Advanced
      1. Disable Inheritance –> Remove all inherited permissions…
      2. Add User just created with full control
      3. Add Domain Admins with full control

IIS Manager

• FTPS Site –> FTP Authorization Rules
• Add Allow Rule…
  • Specified users: housingservices\SFTPuser
  • Permissions: Read and/or Write
